A graduate of the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she completed her internship and a residency in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at California Animal Hospital, Department of Medicine.  She successfully completed the ACVIM exams and the Cardiology specialty boards to become a Diplomate (Board Certified Cardiologist) of the ACVIM in the specialty of Cardiology in 2003. 

Following certification, she practiced at Western Nevada Veterinary Specialists in Carson City, Nevada, Veterinary Specialty Group in Pasadena, California, and Los Angeles Veterinary Specialists in West Hollywood, California, before joining ASEC.  Dr. Williams is also a Clinical Associate Professor for Western University of Health Sciences and has published articles in the journal of the SCVMA.  Her professional interests include minimally invasive interventional cardiology.
