Dr. Joanie Dolance
ICU Clinician
A graduate of Texas A & M College of Veterinary Medicine, she completed her internship at ASEC. She then practiced emergency and critical care medicine in Wisconsin, before returning to ASEC as an ICU clinician. Currently, she is in the process of obtaining board certification with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. Her professional interests include feline critical care, pain management and anesthesia of critical patients.
Dr. Andrew Cruikshank
Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care

A graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, he completed his internship at VCA West LA Animal Hospital. He then successfully completed his emergency and critical care residency at ASEC and passed the ACVECC exam to became a Diplomate (Board certified criticalist) of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. He has published articles on ventilator associated pneumonia as well as esophagostomy tube placement. As well, Andrew is an associate clinical instructor at Western University. His professional interests include ventilator therapy, diabetic emergencies and critical anesthesia.
Dr. Todd Horowitz
ICU Clinician

A graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, he completed his internship at ASEC following one year of private practice. Since then, he has remained on as an ICU clinician. His professional interests include emergency, critical care, and diabetes.
Dr. Zaheda Khan
ICU Clinician

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, she completed her internship at Animal Medical Center in New York. Her professional interests include emergency and critical care.
Dr. Jeannette Yamamoto
ICU Clinician

A graduate of the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she completed her internship with the California Animal Hospital, Department of Surgery. She received the Don Low fellowship in emergency and critical care medicine in 2005-2006. Following the fellowship, she opened an emergency practice in Santa Clarita, before returning to ASEC. Her professional interests include critical care and exotics/small mammals.
Dr. Tania Hunt
ICU Clinician

A graduate of the University of California at Davis College of Veterinary Medicine, where she also graduated with a Master’s degree in Preventative Veterinary Medicine. After school, she completed a rotating internship at California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles. She has published an article on health risks for marine mammal workers. Dr. Hunt’s professional interests include emergency medicine, exotic animal medicine, and practicing veterinary medicine in under-developed countries lacking veterinary care.
Dr. McGee Leonard
Critical Care resident

A graduate of the Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine, she completed her internship at ASEC. Since then, she has remained at ASEC as a critical care resident, pursuing board certification with the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. Her professional interests include care of trauma patients as well as exotics.
