since 1980, with more veterinary
hospitals referring their after-hours
emergency cases to our Center
than to all other Westside
emergency facilities combined.
ASEC boasts the latest state-of-the-art
surgical equipment for orthopedic,
neurologic, soft tissue and
thoracic surgery: including
video laparoscopy, thoracoscopy,
and arthroscopy, helical CT

and discuss the management
of complex cases. In addition,
with multiple surgeons present
each day, we are able to admit
surgical emergencies at any
time, for immediate attention.
ASEC will have a fully equipped
laboratory with hematology,
serum chemistry, blood gas
analyzer, and other instrumentation.
Our blood bank is equipped
with red blood cells and plasma
on-hand for emergency transfusions.
ASEC's Emergency Department

types of emergencies including
trauma (i.e. hit by car), bite
wound injuries, respiratory

conditions: not only for dogs
and cats, but also for avian,
exotic species, rabbits, and
small mammals ("pocket
pets").
ASEC's ICU (Intensive Care
Unit) provides the maximum
level of care for critically
ill pets. Referring veterinary
hospitals may transfer pets
to our ICU for overnight or
