Full-time
board-certified veterinary radiologist,
Dr. Jean K. Reichle, is
available Monday through Friday
for outpatient ultrasound and CT
examinations and radiographic interpretation.
Dr. Reichle graduated from the
Ohio State University College of
Veterinary Medicine, performed
an internship at VCA West Los Angeles
Animal Hospital, followed by
a radiology residency and Master
of Science degree at Colorado State
University. She was a faculty member
at Ohio State University prior
to moving to LA, where she was
the Medical Director of Animal
Imaging from 2000-2005.
GE ProSpeed Helical Computed
Tomography (CT) Scanner is
ideal for the evaluation of orthopedic
diseases such as elbow dysplasia;
diseases of the nasal cavity,
tympanic bullae, temporomandibular
joints; various tumors of the
head, neck, thorax, and abdomen;
and is particularly useful for
surgical or radiation therapy
planning.
The helical capability of this scanner
makes imaging time short and fficient,
so that a thoracic study can be obtained
on one breath-hold or high-risk patients
may undergo sedation instead of general
anesthesia for brief examinations.
Images are saved to PACS (digital
archive) and to CD. CT-guided aspirates
and biopsies are performed for difficult
to access body parts.
GE Logiq 7 Digital Ultrasound (US)
machine provides scanning
frequencies up to 14MHz, which
provides extremely high resolution
for small body parts, such as
imaging of the biceps tendon,
common bile duct, and parathyroid
gland, as well as imaging of
small/exotic patients.
Doppler imaging capabilities include
Colorflow Doppler (identifies vascular
flow in a large area), Power Doppler
Imaging (detects low velocity vascular
flow), Pulsed Wave Doppler (identifies
velocity, direction, and spectral
content within a vessel), and Continuous
Wave Doppler. Harmonic Imaging Technology
enhances near field resolution for
small parts imaging, as well as far
field penetration and overall image
quality in very large patients. Images
are saved to our PACS (digital archive).
US-guided aspirates and biopsies
are commonly performed. Dr. Reichle
does not perform cardiac ultrasound.
